With the seed funding received in April from MIT Green Labs, the DRL implemented a lab-wide wireless power monitoring network to log energy consumption in real time. Led by Dan Preston of the DRL in collaboration with Ariel Anders from CSAIL, this effort has identified areas where energy can be saved in the lab and resulted in a Platinum certification by My Green Lab organization, the highest level of certification available. The DRL will use the 5k Innovation Award to found the MIT Lab Energy Assessment Center, through which any lab on campus will be able to request an energy assessment report provided by a team of students with a mobile energy logging network based on the pilot system in the DRL.
Congratulations to Lenan Zhang, Ryuichi Iwata, Zhengmao Lu, Xuanjie Wang, Carlos Díaz-Marín, and Yang Zhong for a new review paper published in Chemical Reviews!
