Congratulations to Kyle Wilke for successfully defending his PhD on Tailoring Wetting Behavior at Extremes. In his thesis, Kyle addresses some of the most challenging areas in wetting modification, designing and demonstrating 1. robust hydrophobic coatings for heat transfer enhancement, 2. reentrant microstructures that shift the wetting paradigm, enabling previously unrealized or extremely challenging wetting behavior, and 3. omniphobic reentrant surfaces with superior stability.
