Biography
Professor Evelyn N. Wang is the Ford Professor of Engineering (on leave) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is currently serving as Director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E). Professor Wang earned her B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and her S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. She was a postdoctoral associate at Bell Laboratories, Alcatel Lucent from 2006-2007. She joined the MIT faculty in 2007. Professor Wang teaches and conducts research in the area of heat and mass transfer for a range of applications from thermal management to energy conversion and storage to water harvesting. Professor Wang served as Head of MIT’s Department of Mechanical Engineering from 2018-2022.
