Hyeongyun joined the DRL in April 2020 as a Posdoctoral Associate after receiving his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His doctoral research focused on condensation-driven solid-liquid interfacial phenomena and phase change heat transfer. At the DRL, he is currently working on understanding and optimizing boiling heat transfer using machine learning-based design approach.
